Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can revitalize and rejuvenate skin by chemically exfoliating the outer skin layer. Chemical Peels are used to soften fine lines and wrinkles, improve acne, lighten sunspots and reduce clogged pores. Also removed are the early patches of scaly skin that become actinic keratoses, lesions that can be an early beginning of skin cancer.

Superficial chemical peels can be done in 45 minutes or less, with little or no downtime. During the first several minutes of a peel you may feel a slight stinging sensation but this resolves quickly. There is no recuperation required however, you may leave the office with slight skin redness. Most patients return to work -immediately.

A series of peels at weekly, bi-weekly or monthly intervals is usually required to attain the best skin rejuvenation result. Chemical peels can be used alone or with other skin rejuvenation procedures.
