Botox Cosmetic

Botox is a purified injectable medicine used to treat dynamic wrinkles on the face including crow’s feet, worry lines and frown lines. These lines appear as a result of muscle movement and the passage of time. Botox works by relaxing the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out and the moderate to severe lines begin to fade.

Botox Cosmetic is the only treatment of its type approved by the FDA for this use. Botox injections are safe and simple procedure. Using a tiny micro-needle, a very small amount of Botox is precisely injected into several locations on the face. It requires no downtime and discomfort is minimal.

Side effects are rare and are always temporary. Bruising may occur in certain areas but typically resolves in a few days. In very few cases Botox can migrate to other tissue and cause a temporary weakness of nearby muscles.

The effect of each treatment can last up to four months. After several treatments the effects of the injections begin to last longer. The duration of effect varies from patient to patient.

Botox has also been successfully used to treat excessive sweating of the hands, feet and armpits. Treatments for excessive sweating can last 6 months or longer.
